Chapters 5–6: A bilingual approach Beginning in Chapter 5, all materials in the text are presented in both Spanish and English to begin the shift from Spanish Language Learner to English Language Learner. Educators are taught to present the material in both languages so that students become exposed to all of the same methodology and pedagogical approaches that have been utilized in the first four chapters.
