3. How do my students access their eBooks?

After the teacher assigns eBooks, students will receive an email from Shurley English with their unique access code and instructions on how to download the Shurley Portal to their devices.

Below are several important instructions to share with your students:

  • Enter the access code in the User ID/Access Code field.
  • Remember that access codes are case-sensitive.

If your students do not have email addresses, simply print the student instruction sheet found in the Classroom Administration tile, write down each student's unique access code, and distribute the information sheet to each student.

4. How do I navigate through my eBooks?

Your Shurley digital materials are designed to be simple and intuitive. Simply click, drag, and/or swipe through your digital materials. The Interactive i cluster, located at the bottom of your eBook, contains content designed to enhance the lesson. Click the "i" to view our special tools for learning.

5. How do I access SEDA?

To promote language arts success, our Digital Classroom includes SEDA: the Shurley English Digital Assistant. With SEDA, learning is as easy as pressing PLAY. You can decide what portions of the day you wish to teach and what portions you wish to be student-driven. Students can work ahead or on pace with your guidance. To view the prerecorded lesson, simply click the SEDA icon located in the Interactive i cluster at the bottom of the page.

6. How do I access the Shurley English eWorkbook?

The Shurley English eWorkbook is a digital worksheet management system which allows you to assign digital worksheets, or eWB pages, to your students. The students use a tool bar to type, underline, or place dots directly on the page. Then, the saved work may be retrieved and graded by you, the teacher. (The eWB feature is exclusive to the Shurley Digital Classroom.)

The eWB is located in the Interactive i cluster at the bottom of your eBook. To learn how to assign, complete, submit, and grade eWorksheets, please view the tutorial videos below.

Compatibility Alert: The eWorkbook feature is compatible with Chromebooks, Windows computers and Mac computers.
